If you hesitate to use Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping in public, here’s a way to subtly tap away.
- Put your hands in your lap or under the table if that situation presents itself.
- Use the index and middle finger of one hand to tap on the karate chop point of the other hand while saying your setup phrase.
- Then using the index and middle finger, tap on the side of the thumb of the opposite hand between the base of the nail and the first joint.
- Tap this point on each of the other fingers of your hand while saying your reminder phrase.
I find this works quite well in tapping down the emotional charge surrounding a situation. I also find a nice variation of tapping with the two fingers in unison is to alternate the fingers – similar to the movement you use for typing on a keyboard. The alternate pulsing is a pleasant departure of the staccato tap the two fingers in unison produces.
