A number of authors discuss the power of intention as a way to bring about a different state of affairs in our lives. Michael J. Losier has created a good structure for learning to direct your power of intention in his book titled Law of Attraction. According to Losier, you attract into your life whatever you give attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative.
Gary Craig, developer of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) takes this thought a bit farther when he says we often fail to materialize our affirmations because our real affirmation is a “yes-but” we hear internally. That “yes-but” is called a tail-ender by Gary and he uses EFT to release the emotional connection that is sabotaging your stated affirmation.
Dr. Wayne W. Dyer presents intention as an invisible energy field you are able to connect with. In his book titled The Power of Intention he describes ways to raise your energy’s vibrational level so that when you match up with the vibrational level of the vast field of intention, then your personal intention will appear.
Of course, action must often follow intention.
